Tribal
The Tribal style of tattooing is one of the oldest and most historic, some of the very first tattoos were of this style, because of the simplicity and the symbolization. These tattoos were for their tribe's warriors, so that, while in combat, warriors could tell their allies apart from their enemies. Tribal is known for being mostly comprised of black ink, thick lines and crisp, sharp corners. There are tattoo styles within the boundaries of the Tribal, such as Polynesian and Celtic. This style, has unfortunately been transformed into an art form that has lost a lot of significance in the tattoo world, the designs have lost their meaning. Tribal was known for it's perfection in fitting the contours of the human body and it's intricate designs, however during the evolution of the modern tattoo, the 1990s made the tribal tattoo a fad and really started to take away from the substance of the style. There needs to be a warning placed in this article because of the misconceptions attributed to tribal tattoos.
