Black and Grey
The Black and Grey style has been a vital part in the evolution of the modern tattoo. Way back in the day, when tattoos were still taboo and often illegal, the only place to get tattoos in relative peace was in jail. Using the ashes from burnt magazines and bible pages and mixing them with water, inmates were able to make black ink. They soon figured out that when mixed with baby oil or placed in the sun light, it would make the blacks a little lighter, giving grey ink to compliment the black. Black and grey uses some of the most precise techniques to create some of the most delicate and smoothest tattoos ever created. Shading and gradation are two key elements in this style of tattooing, mastering these two techniques make black and grey tattoos come to life and give it an amazing look when finished.
